Health Authority Medical Advisory Committee

The Health Authority Medical Advisory Committee (HAMAC) is a Board-appointed committee that:

  • Ensures the competence of medical staff
  • Ensures quality of care
  • Develops physician human resource plans

HAMAC does not approve minor practice changes. However, it does approve the minutes of various subcommittees who review practice issues, such blood transfusion, lab medicine quality, pharmacy and therapeutics, and credentialing.

In addition to the HAMAC team, Area Medical Advisory Committees exist in each community of care.
