New website promotes engagement opportunities for physicians working at Vancouver Acute sites

The Vancouver Medical, Dental and Allied Staff Association (VMDAS) and the Vancouver Physician Staff Association (VPSA) have launched a new website that provides members with information and resources.

“The website is one more way we are reaching out to engage physicians at VGH, UBC Hospital, GF Strong and Vancouver Community,” said VPSA Facility Engagement Initiative Co-chair Dr. Lyne Filiatrault. “The site includes information on upcoming events, projects’ funding, committees, and association news. We’ve included resources for physicians and information on ways you can get involved to make our working environment and patient care better. For issues of concern, you can contact the VMDAS executive confidentially via the site. Going forward, you will also be able to pay your MSA dues securely online.”

VMDAS represents over 1,900 physicians in the Vancouver Community of Care. Its engagement activities are coordinated by VPSA, which was established in 2016 as part of the provincial Facility Engagement Initiative with the objectives of strengthening relationships, engagement and improving communication between Vancouver Coastal Health Authority/Vancouver Acute leaders and physicians who work or have privileges at VGH, UBC Hospital and GF Strong. The VPSA Facility Engagement Initiative’s ultimate goal is creating a collaborative culture where physicians and health care leaders work together to share knowledge and make informed decisions that can improve patient care, the physician experience, and the cost effectiveness of the health care system.
