Will I get paid if I have to stay home with my sick child or if we’re waiting for my child’s COVID-19 test results?

If you are required to remain at home, under the collective agreements, we have special leave provisions. One of these does provide for payment for two days (depending on the collective agreement), where the staff member is required to remain at home due to a domestic or household emergency. 

In addition, if the staff member is required to remain at home under the direction of public health in order to be in isolation, then you will be paid sick time if you have symptoms. If you are asymptomatic, you will be paid as general paid leave.
