Online Credentialing Resource Centre

VCH and PHC, together with all BC health authorities, will be introducing an online application and reapplication system for medical staff appointments. All physicians, dentists, midwives, nurse practitioners and other regulated health care practitioners who are affiliated with a health authority will use the new online system and standardized business processes.

The central support team can be reached by phone 604-675-2523 and email  Support staff are available Monday to Friday 0800-1600 hrs.  Online and phone support appointments are available. If you like to setup an appointment, please call or email the support team with your contact details, the problem you are having and date and time that works for you. The support team will contact you to confirm your online or phone appointment.

February BC Family Day Long weekend: The reappointment help desk will be OPEN the BC Family Day long weekend (Feb 11, 12 & 13) from 0800-1700 hrs with reduced coverage.  Please contact the support desk via telephone or email above. Telephone calls on the weekend are paged to the next available support personnel who will call you back shortly.

Web Browser Compatibility:

iPhones, iPads and other Smartphone/tablet devices are not recommended to access the online application system.

The following web browsers are compatible with the online application system.

You can access the online application with a Personal Computer/Laptop (Windows or Apple). Google Chrome, Firefox or Safari are the recommended browsers to use.


  • JavaScript and Cookie capabilities must be enabled in the selected Web browser.
  • Windows XP and older versions of Internet Explorer 9.0 may be used. However, users may experience issues due to limited functionality and Windows XP is no longer supported by Microsoft.

Create one CACTUS (AppCentral) account, apply separately to each health authority.

The first time a practitioner uses AppCentral they will need to set up a CACTUS Software account, which will take about 5-10 minutes. The time it takes to then complete the application will differ by organization, as each may have specific requirements for re/appointment. Practitioners will continue to submit separate applications to each of:

• Fraser Health Authority
• Interior Health Authority
• Island Health
• Northern Health Authority
• Providence Health Care
• Provincial Health Services Authority
• Vancouver Coastal Health

Online software and data security for online re/appointment

There is a stringent Security Access Model that governs who can access CACTUS data, for what purposes and under what circumstances. Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) has sole proprietary rights to the data in the provincial system, which is stored in the Kamloops Data Centre. Access to PHSA’s data in the AppCentral (CACTUS Software) system is governed through an information-sharing agreement with the province’s health authorities.
