Preventing the spread of influenza to our patients, clients and residents is a responsibility shared by medical staff, staff, visitors and family members. Last season 81% of medical staff got the flu shot, the remaining members chose to wear a mask. All medical staff are encouraged to get a free flu shot before December 1, 2017, when the Health Care Worker Influenza Protection Policy comes into effect.

Medical staff for VCH, PHC, PHSA, FHA, VIHA, NH and IH can self report online to let your site know that you have received your influenza vaccination:
This method of reporting is completely secure and confidential and is only used to provide the health organizations with verification of your influenza immunization.

What if I don’t get vaccinated?
You will be required to self-report to the website above advising that you will wear a procedure mask when in patient care areas. Masks will be available on the units.
