Medical staff rules revisions
The Health Authority Medical Advisory Committee (HAMAC) launched the HAMAC Governance Subcommittee in August. This subcommittee was tasked with reviewing and updating the VCH Medical Staff Rules (“Rules") to ensure they remain relevant, efficient and aligned with organizational goals. As part of this work, and in alignment with HAMAC's commitment to transparency and inclusivity, we are looking for your feedback on how the Rules have affected you and your practice.

How to Provide Feedback
Your feedback ensures the Rules reflect evolving needs of clinical and operational practice. Please reflect on your own experience with the Rules and provide feedback through the online form by November 27, 2025.

Hospital Act
Hospital care in British Columbia is governed under the Hospital Act. This provincial legislation sets out requirements of hospitals.
VCH medical staff bylaws & rules
VCH Medical Staff are required to read the VCH Medical Staff Bylaws and Medical Staff Rules as part of their initial application for appointment.
