Leadership Capabilities for New Leaders
At Vancouver Coastal Health, we believe that developing medical leaders who can operate effectively within this framework is essential for achieving our vision of creating healthy communities. The capabilities we have developed for New Medical Leaders are aligned with the LEADS framework and designed to help you build the skills and knowledge you need to be an effective new medical leader.
The LEADS framework is a leadership development model that has been widely adopted across healthcare organizations in Canada. It is based on the idea that leadership is a shared responsibility that involves everyone in the organization. The framework is organized around five domains: Lead Self, Engage Others, Achieve Results, Develop Coalitions, and Systems Transformation.
We invite you to review these capabilities and think about how you can apply them to your own leadership practice. By doing so, we believe that you will be well positioned to help drive positive change within our organization and make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of our communities.
