At both events, participant will hear from Dr. Julia Smith who has conducted research with thousands of health-care providers over the past three years. She shares her findings around gender equality, moral distress, and resilience in the health-care workforce as we work to #EmbraceEquity–the theme for International Women's Day this year.

Dr. Smith is an assistant professor in SFU's Faculty of Health Sciences and leads the Health and Social Inequities Theme with the Pacific Institute on Pathogens, Pandemics and Society. She co-led the Gender and COVID-19 Project, which examined the gender effects of the pandemic response across 12 countries.

Events are presented by Vancouver Coastal Health's Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Team and Medical Staff Steering Committee, which includes members from several medical staff associations.
