Area Medical Advisory Committees

The Area Medical Advisory Committees (AMACs) are the senior medical administrative bodies for all medical staff in each community of care. AMACs function as subcommittees of the Health Authority Medical Advisory Committee (HAMAC)​ and report to the HAMAC Chairs. ​

Some of the AMAC areas of responsibility and duties include:

  • Physician workforce development​

  • Medical administration

  • Clinical privileges

  • Quality of care

  • Medical staff resource planning

  • Professional and ethical conduct

  • Continuing medical education
