Fit Testing

Annual respirator fit testing is mandatory for all residents. This is crucial for all healthcare staff who provide care to, or have direct contact with, patients with known or suspected airborne transmissible illness, as well as those performing aerosol-generating medical procedures (AGMPs).

Book an appointment to get your respirator fit test at the facility closest to you. You can get fit tested within any Health Authority; just make sure you indicate the Health Authority you are employed with on the fit testing record given to you at your appointment.

Book a Fit Test with Vancouver Coastal Health:

Book an appointment here: N95- Fit Testing  Or   Scan the QR Code:

Note: Please do not drink tea/coffee or anything that may impact your taste for at least 15 minutes prior to the Fit Test (water is fine).

Please also ensure that your face is clean-shaven. Facial hair (even very short stubble) interferes with the seal of the N95 to the face, thereby reducing its efficiency to provide respiratory protection. We are unable to Fit Test you, if you have facial hair.

If you have questions or inquiries. please contact VCH People Safety, or your Health Authority Safety Lead (if you work outside of VCH) to discuss appropriate accommodations and next steps.
