Provincial Orientation

​​This section outlines the mandatory orientation steps for all incoming resident doctors in British Columbia, regardless of your assigned Health Authority.

Occupational Health and Safety Training

To complete the mandatory OHS and Violence Prevention training, residents must follow these three registration steps:

  1. Complete the eLearning Courses: Register and complete the Resident Doctors OHS/Violence Prevention Training - LearningHub eLearning courses.
  2. Register for the Classroom Orientation:

Locate the "Resident Doctors OHS and PVPC Classroom Orientation" sessions. During the orientation period, all sessions will be conducted virtually. No in-person classes will be available for residents at this time.

  1. Complete Webinar Registration:

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to finalize your webinar registration. Use this link to complete the registration steps.

Important: To ensure accurate record-keeping and to facilitate training reimbursement:

    • Register for the webinar using your full legal name as it appears on official identification, for example your passport (e.g., John Michael Smith).
      • This helps ensure accurate attendance records, certificate issuance, and alignment with HR and payroll systems.
    • Provide your Employee ID number (find it here) during registration.

For the classroom orientation, we will be using MS Teams webinar. We strongly recommend using your work email to register for Learning Hub and MS Teams webinar. For additional support with MS Teams, you may consult the MS Teams guide.

*Reimbursement: Course fees for mandatory training completed within three months prior to appointment to residency are eligible for reimbursement.

  • This training is reimbursable upon confirmed attendance and active participation.
